Double Digits

Happy Birthday, Mr. Brown Eyes.

You are 10 today. Wow. I say this every year, but boy, oh boy, how the time flies.

You are already interested in girls...you know, the one in front of you with her long brown hair swept to the side?!?! Yowza. We better hold onto our hats...

You seem to really love your sports..

But your current obsession is anything Dirt Bike...which has ALMOST topped your obsession with horses.

You are a most excellent fourth grader, doing VERY well!

And you are SO goofy sometimes...

BUT, we love you to the moon and back, and hope that year #10 is a great one for you!

Sigh....

Is this room A....DOR....ABLE....or WHAT?!?!? Stopped me dead in my bloggin' tracks today....and I STARED. For a long time. Pink and green....heaven.

EvEn BeTtEr.....

Here it is at NIGHT...

Oh, my bloomin' word. I could cozy up in there and NEVER come out. Just all wrapped up in one of those beds, or on that sofa, readin' my brains out...surrounded by PINK.

I think I am seeing a trend in my blog posts here...it has to do with the color pink. Hmmmm...

Guess I should get back to blogging about the kids and all.

Nah.

Little bit of CUTE

I have a new thing regarding the color RED...I seem to gravitate towards it wherever I am...fabric store, clothing section, Goodwill, you name it. I am developing a theory that it is my new "pink"... considering I live in a house full of MEN...and get so much drama over anything PINK around here. Therefore, I am thinking that my mind has just made red the new pink. Sound strange? Probably.

ANYHOO, nothing is better than RED coupled with AQUA in my mind! lOvE that color combination....hence the reason I painted our last dining room Vintage Aqua. I still have what is left from that project, and am looking for something I can use it up on...a shelf or something?

I was over at the Meadowbrook blog and she had these gorgeous pictures...and guess what? AQUA bridesmaid dresses with RED flowers! AGH! So pretty!

I also copied this pictures to save the idea of these awesome tissue flowers...wouldn't those be fun to try? Easy, cheap decorations!
Not sure if I could work that around to use for ANY boy parties, but maybe my niece? She would probably let me...she is going to think her Auntie is crazy soon...but really, I am just a girl who wants to indulge her GIRL side once in awhile! Watch out Kendyl!

My encouragement for today...

Isaiah 43

Fear not, for I have redeemed you, O Isreal;
I have called you by name, you are mine.
When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;
and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you;
when you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned,
and the flame shall not consume you.
For I am the Lord your God,
the Holy One of Isreal, your Savior.
you are precious in my eyes, and honored,
and I love you.

Isn't that a wonderful message from the Lord? Notice the bold print...

I have called you by name, you are mine.

It feels so good to know that I am His.

Enjoy your day!

New Deco

I FINALLY got this wreath done over Christmas Break! It took me forever to get started, and then, it ended up being way more time consuming than I thought it would! I got the idea from a blog I read..( BIG suprise!...I read WAY to many of those!)

Hers looked a bit different from mine, with smaller ruffles, but I kind of liked the bigger ones, so I left them and decided not to trim them. I used some old burlap feed sacks that belonged to my Grandparents to make this..my Dad saved them for me, and I stuck them in the attic, not sure what I was going to do with them! They came in handy! Apparently, though, you can buy burlap by the bolt at Joann's...didn't know that!

I used some bias tape trim from my stash to go around the raw edges of the burlap, then made these little felt flowers to add to it. I like how they turned out!

Maybe next time, I might try making one that uses the print side of the feed sacks...IF there is a next time!
